Disposable Face Masks With a BFE of 99.9% for Airborne Particles Help Prevent the Spread of Airborne Viruses
December 2009—The FLAVORSEAL® brand from CMS (Carroll Manufacturing & Sales) introduces disposable, nonwoven face masks to their wide range of safety supplies. These high quality disposable masks are designed to be worn by workers exposed to cold or flu viruses to help prevent their spreading the virus to coworkers or customers. Face masks can also provide some protection against germs and contaminants from other people.
CMS face masks are composed of three layers, with the middle layer having a BFE (bacterial filtration efficiency) of 99.9% for airborne particles. Similar masks offer as low as 95% BFE. The outer layer is durable nonwoven polypropylene, while the blue inner layer is softer and designed to “breathe” for comfortable protection. CMS face masks feature soft elastic ear loops* for easy on and off, snugly holding the mask in place without catching on hair or skin. The bendable nosepiece conveniently conforms to the wearer’s face for a closer, more individual fit. Three pleats on the front expand the mask to cover the chin.
